Four Stunning Next-Gen Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots Unveiled

Nike has shown off four colorways of the next-generation Nike Mercurial Superfly Soccer Boots. And while none of them is set to for an official launch, the black, blue, red and white versions of the fifth-generation Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Cleats give us already the first hint at what is possible with the boots on NikeID.

Boasting the colors red, white, black and blue, all of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Boots that Nike showed off yesterday would be an instant hit amongst players. But while none of these colorways will be ever launched, it still will be possible to get the hands on these outstanding boots. But how?

Players will be able to re-create the red, white, black and blue boots using NikeID (It was not announced yet when the boots will come to Nike's customization service). However, while the custom Nike Mercurial Superfly iD Boots were not unveiled officially yet, the pictures nevertheless reveal what can be done with the Nike Mercurial Superfly iD Cleats.

First, it will be possible to choose from at least four main colors. Second, it will be possible to choose from two colors for the sole plate (at least). But what's even more interesting is that the Dynamic Fit collar can finally feature the same color as the upper (the NikeID Mercurial Superfly 2014 WC Boots always feature a black collar).

Another interesting detail is that the boots feature a slight color gradient on the upper. So it might be even possible to create a boot that fades from white to black or blue to red etc (Nike also showed off a next-generation Nike Mercurial Superfly Prototype with a Multicolor upper at the event - more on this later).

Red Nike Magista Obra 2016 Boots Released

Nike today unveiled a new women's-exclusive football boot collection in time for the end of the season, including a stunning, red and orange Nike Magista Obra cleat.

NIKE MAGISTA OBRA RADIANT REVEAL - CRIMSON / ORANGE / WHITE

This is the stunning Nike Women's Magista Obra boots for the end of the 16-17 season.
Similar to the stunning white / black / pink April 2016 Nike Magista Obra boots, the red and orange Nike Magista Obra 2016 women's cleats feature a striking gradient between the red lower part and the mostly orange Dynamic Fit collar. A bold white Swoosh on the outside and grey trim on the collar round off the bold look of the new Nike Magista Obra women's cleats.

Just like previous women's football boot releases by Nike, the red Nike Magista Obra 2016 Radiant Reveal boots feature the same technologies as the men's version and will also be released for all take-down models including the Nike Magista Opus.


Available from late March 2016, the crimson Nike Magista Obra 2016 Radiant Reveal women's football boots will be released in women's sizes up to US 13 (EU 43).

Green Nike Hypervenom II 2015 Boots Released

The next-gen green / black Nike Hypervenom 2 Football Boots introduce Nike's trademark Dynamic Fit collar to the Hypervenom, available from July 17. The next-gen Nike Hypervenom 2 Cleat was launched in the Wolf Grey colorway by FC Barcelona superstar Neymar on May 21, 2015.

Neymar laced up in a blackout Nike Hypervenom II Prototype Boots during several FC Barcelona training sessions since January 2015, while Isco, Adriano, Lewandoswki and Hachim Mastour also made the switch to the next-gen Nike Hypervenom II Cleats.

NIKE HYPERVENOM II PHANTOM GREEN STRIKE / BLACK

This is the new green / black Nike Hypervenom 2 2015 Soccer Boot.

The new green Nike Hypervenom II Soccer Cleats boast a striking design to stand out on the pitch. The Nike Hypervenom II Soccer Cleats feature a green Dynamic Fit collar for a sock-like feel, while Nike added a spectacular graphic pattern on the heel area and the sole plate to create a unique look.
The high-top version of the new Nike Hypervenom Phantom II Football Boots feature a tongue-less design. Nike uses NikeSkin for the upper of the next-gen Nike Hypervenom Cleats, equipped with All Conditions Control technology for better ball control in dry and wet conditions. Nike Flywire strings in the upper of the next-generation green Nike Hypervenom Phantom are made for more stability in the midfoot area.

Nike also released a more traditional Nike Hypervenom Boot with a low-cut design, called Nike Hypervenom Phinish.

For the outsole, Nike uses conical studs for better rotational agility. Tech-wise, the sole plate of the next-gen Nike Hypervenom 2 Boots is almost identical as the outsole of the first generation, while the outsole of the Green Strike Nike Hypervenom Phantom 2 Boot boasts the same unique graphic pattern as the grey and orange variations, albeit in a more subtle fashion.

The Nike Tech Craft Pack places a thin layer of leather on the upper in high ball-contact areas on the Nike Hypervenom, Nike Magista and Nike Mercurial, while the Nike Tiempo Legend V Boots already feature a super soft Kangaroo leather upper.
“This was a daunting project, as each of our boots have quite different uppers. The challenges of fusing leather onto Flyknit and loft mesh required numerous prototypes and various methods of application before we cracked the code,” said VanHook.

VanHook credits the design team's ability to combine classic craftsmanship with modern methodologies as the key to making the Nike Tech Craft vision a reality. “We cobble by pixel, working with sketch books and sandblasters but also lasers and computer programs. We needed every one of the tools available to us to bring Tech Craft to life.”
